Brooklyn Beer
Beauty of a car. Really nice dash. The driving vid shows the great and simple over drive in action. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1938-chrysler-c-19-imperial-touring-sedan/

deaddds
Did I miss the OD? It looks to me he only did 3 shifts. Or were other Chryslers just two speeds? Nice car.
Brooklyn Beer
3 shifts and then at a certian rpm and speed just lift off the gas for a brief second and it goes into OD. There is also an electrical kick down to get it back to third that can be a pain. Mine was bypassed and the linkage gone. By this time they were calling it "Cruise and Climb". I need to get that girl out and get back on it now that cooler weather has arrived.
SparkEE
I believe the cruise and climb (electric kick down) came out in 39. Also in 39, the 323ci engine became the standard eight for Chryslers (though was in the custom imperial in 38). However, column shift became the norm in that year as well. Nice looking car in the subject thread.
