alesco
Is thre anything on this car that's easy to do? I'm trying to replace the front driver's side turn signal lamp. I raised the headlight and saw two screws and loosened them, hoping it would give access to the bulbs, but nothing moves. I see two sockets that disapper under the flat plate, but see no way of removing the bulbs. Can you tell me exactly how to replace this lamp? And there appears to be two sockets. Are they both for turn signals or just one of them? Which one do I replace since neither appears to be lit. A little extra information, the turn signal stays on, but the rear is blinking properly.Thanks.
Barney Eaton
As you already know, the two screws you removed do not hold the assembly. There are 4 hex head screws that hold each side in place, you must access them from under the car. I guess Buick did not design it for the DIY (do it yourself) owner. Once you find the screws, it is not a major deal, but not a 5 minute job either. Shelby
Barney are there 4 or 5 screws? There are a couple of those screws are a B#^(*& to get to. I think they take 5 or 6 mm hex a 1/4 drive with a varity of extension and a good light. It comes out easily if you get all the screws. DON'T force it. I put #10x3/4" stainless or galvinized truss head phillips screws back in a lot easier to get back in and out again if needed.
Guest NASCAR
THE SIGNAL IS THE ONE ONE THE CORNER I GOT TO MINE BY REMOVING THE HEADLITE ASSY. YOU CAN'T HARDLY SEE IT FROM THE TOP WITH THE HEADLITE IN
reattadudes
removing the headlight assembly is truly the way to go. should take about ten minutes to remove the assembly, and no bloodly knuckles and dirt in the eyes like the under the car method.be sure to replace ALL the bulbs while you're in there, so you don't have to do it again soon! <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
Howard
I replaced mine by removing the headlight too. It pretty easy to take out. The whole process from start to finish is about 40 minutes. Howard
Barney Eaton
I believe there are 4 screws... the designer that put the one behind the bumper support will rot in Hell removing those screws. When I do a bulb change, I never put that 4th screw back in....3 screws seem to hold it quite well.
Guest Reatta1
What years are you guys working on? I had to replace a park/turn bulb on my 88 and the service writer at the shop just reached up under the bumper, twisted the socket to remove it, put the new bulb in and repeatd process to reinstall it. All of 5 minutes. Is something different after 88?
Guest
thats what i did and i have a 1990 it takes about 5 minutes once you find it
Shelby
I tried getting those out but my hands are just to big. 5 Band-Aids later I took the whole assembly out. Some thing with the Radiator drain plug. Another engineer to rot in hell.
Guest imported_keystone
I have a 90. I replaced mine from the front by simply moving the headlight door part way open and then reaching in with my hand and replacing the bulbs. Laying on the ground and replacing from under the car also works well.Gary
