John G.
I am planning on replacing the battery cables on my 70 442 W30. It appears to be a somewhat simple job, I could be wrong. If anyone as any suggestions or tips on doing this, please respond. Thanks.
Guest stude8
Just be sure to get correct gauge cables. Don't let a counter man sell you an under rated #6 cable when you really need a #2 or heavier (#0) gauge to crank that V8 on a hot day or cold day if you drive it in winter. poci1957
It should be simple BUT do you want correct, original cables? If so, any parts store purchase is inauthentic and everyone will know it. I suggest check Year One for CORRECT cables, available for $35-$40. Best wishes, Todd C
rocketraider
I recommend Fusick or the other Olds-exclusive vendors over YO. These are the guys who are laying out the cash, effort and research to bring correct Olds repop parts to market. Support them. Not to mention YO's customer support is not what it was a few years back.Fusick's August 2002 Cutlass catalog lists 1970 455 cables in stock at $39 for the (+) cable and $45 for the (-), with correct OE type terminals. poci1957
Glenn's advice is better than mine for the reasons he states, any Olds owner should get a Fusicks catalog ASAP. Todd C, POCI 1957
