EmTee Posted July 19, 2022 Share Posted July 19, 2022 Are you saying the starter drive goes 'zing' some times before it turns the flywheel? If so, then you need to remove the starter, disassemble it and replace the starter drive (aka: "Bendix" or overrunning clutch). 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Some older model Buicks, like my friend Ben’s 1960, were equipped with starters that were engaged when you depressed the accelerator pedal. This was done by a switch connected to the carburetor.
