Rusty_OToole
At one time they made a Fluid Drive fluid but it has not been made in years. A good substitute is TDH tractor fluid, ISO32 or ISO22 grade. You can get it at Walmart, farm stores and auto parts stores. It is not expensive. The factory also recommended 10W motor oil. The Fluid Drive unit if completely empty holds more than that but you never need to change the oil. It is a sealed unit and never gets dirty. Just top it up every 10,000 miles as necessary. 30 wt must be for a manual trans, the self shifting M6 transmission uses the same TDH tractor fluid as the Fluid Drive. TDH stands for transmission, differential and hydraulic fluid. Edited May 5, 2022 by Rusty_OToole (see edit history)
Akstraw
There is a good discussion of this topic on the following thread from a couple of years ago: Sent from my iPad
Rusty_OToole
There are a couple of long threads from 2008 that give more info on these than you would believe. Look under Chrysler and search Fluid Drive. The whole subject has been covered in detail many times.
