Patrick Zoller
I'm looking for the correct engine paint color for the valve covers on a 1979 Riviera. It looks like a medium blue but isn't GM Blue by Duplicolor. Anyone have any info? Thanks
Seafoam65
The correct color is GM blue, but on a lot of the original cars as they left the factory, the color was a lighter shade of blue than the official corporate blue. You would have to have someone custom mix the paint to get a match to the original paint. Same thing with the Buick Green paint on the nailheads......the factory color was more blue and less green than the official formula.
RivNut
I know that at one point, Buick went to the Oldsmobile engine. I would imagine that you could find the Oldsmobile blue. But if your car has the Buick engine it may be an odd color. Keep us updated.
