1927 11B Oil Guage Cable

Hi, anyone find or have a replacement for the oil gauge cable for a 1927 11B?  I have the jacket but the thin inside cable itself is missing.

I replaced the one in my 11A with some thin steel spring wire that my wife "borrowed" from the GM plant she worked at. (it was used there to make springs for hydraulic valve lifters).

 

It was very thin - you could perhaps take the outer jacket for it to a music shop and see if you can get a guitar string long enough - 44½" is what the book says.

 

Something like this would probably do it

I used some of the heavy fishing leader wire I could get down at the Hdw.
