Terry Bond
I know, there is a separate swap meet section, but thought this would be of interest to a wider audience and get a bit more exposure here - I came across this article several years ago and thought it worth scanning and posting here. It's from the September 1915 issue of Motor Print Magazine. You might need to enlarge the photo to clearly read through it. The scanner cut off a small part of the very last sentence. It reads - "The junk fair ought to be a great attraction to the American automobilists France is hoping to see when the "See America" craze has blown itself out." Enjoy - and see if you can find any more info on it. I know that Paris was once famed for its street markets and used to be an antique picker's paradise, much like those in London. But, I'm sure things change. Could you imagine stepping back in time here though, pawing through all those great brass lamps, spark plugs, mascots, etc. Terry
Scott Bonesteel
I don't know, having just gone through the 'Miracle on the Marne' a year earlier and with the continued, significant ongoing hostilities nearby in September 1915, it would seem that Parisians--even automobile enthusiasts--would have a lot more on their minds than swap meets.
