rjp
Ok, My 17 stude runs great at high or low idle. I do have the vacuum tank hooked up. When I run the engine for a while and then shut of gas will come out of the throttle shaft or the butterfly shaft, not the choke shaft. The float is good and needle valve there is good. Can that be in the intake? I can even turn the gas of for alittle while then shut the motor off and still does the same .Any suggestions or help would be great The throttle shaft is about 1 1/2 above the carb. bowl
carbking
With an updraft carburetor, when there is no vacuum in the intake manifold (engine off), fuel in suspension in the intake manifold drops down and runs out the first available hole (the edge of the throttle shaft). rjp
So this is normal or should the throttle shaft be sealed better?
carbking
Depends on how much is leaking; possibly normal. Remember that 1 drop of leaking gas will expand to cover 9 square feet of garage floor Jon
