1947 Buick roadmaster 320 engine air cleaner size vs 248?

thank you for your insight.  My brother happens to have two air cleaner assemblies that appear similar in design except the tubular mid section has two lengths, 6 and 7 inches. So I am still a bit confused as to why the mid sections vary in size.  Which is proper for the 47 roadmaster?

The round silencer section of the two assemblies were remeasured and one was 5.5” and the other 7”.  I have ruled out the 248 as you have educated me on( thank you). Checking with a few other Buick owners looks like the 320 engine in 47 and 48 used the 5.5” silencer.  I am still trying to figure out what year or other cars would use the 7” unit.?   Maybe Buick years before or after 47-48 or other vehicles, Pontiac, olds, caddy Hudson or packer?  Any thoughts?
