Guest imported_PackardV8
i'm guessing based on style of housing and size. We r talking mid 60's to late 70's. The housing (as far as i can tell from pic) is identicle to those used on Harley Davidson circa 1965-75. The housings were accessories available with various gauges. The mounting at the bottom is a little different from the HD application.
Amphicar BUYER
It isn't HD that is for certain. But I agree with PackardV8 that it is 60's vintage. Maybe GM option? The way it mounts looks like it may have been perched on top of the dash or a console.
real61ss
The picture is so dark that you can't see the face but 1966 Chevrolet Impala's that had factory tach's had a small clock that was shaped very much like this one. It was mounted on top of and in the center of the dash. (the tach mounted where the clock normally mounted in the dash)
