I sometimes in the summer take my 70 Skylark to a local drag strip and always wanted to put a few bucks of cam 2 feul in the tank for a little of an extra boost but I'm not sure if cam 2 would be to powerful in my 350-2 or not. What could doing this cause to the motor or anything else? Also what about 93 octaine and a bottle of octaine booster? <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

The higher the octance, the slower it burns. You wouldn't harm anything at all. I'm aware of Cam 2 is leaded or not, but if it is, and you are running a catalytic converter, running leaded gas will ruin it. If it's unleaded, you are fine. Unless you change your timing with the gas, you won't notice any difference. The main reason for octane is to be able to run higher compression and/or more spark advance. Without the octane you would have detonation. Unless you have that problem now, under hard acceration, you won't notice a bit of difference and will be wasting your money. The fuel itself won't make you go faster, it just allows you to make other changes that do. Hope that helps.

[color:"blue"] Before being tempted to use read the directions on the octane booster bottle. It takes a lot (several bottles) to raise the octane even one point. If you had enough to make a difference it leaves a funky residue on the combustion chamber, spark plugs, valves ect . . .

Bought 5 gallons of 110 octane Union 76 racing gas for my Starfire last night at $4.00/gallon. Station also has 100 octane unleaded racing gas at the same price, so I usually treat the Starfire and Toronado to the real leaded stuff and they do love it. Even the Ninety Eight likes a dose of 100 octane once in a while. The Hurst will run happily on 89 octane and I don't see the difference running 93 octane in it that I do running 100+ in the others.

The way gas is going, it may soon be as cheap to use the good stuff as rotgut pump gas.
