JFranklin
My cousin is asking about his Triumph TR 4 needing tips on how to adjust spokes that don't want to loosen/tighten. I suggested penetrant and heat. Any hints or cautions? Edited July 10, 2021 by JFranklin added thoughts (see edit history)

alsfarms
First, I would make sure the splines are not worn out. It is no use to mess with a wheel that is worn out. If you determine the wheel is worth rebuilding, good penetrating oil, not lubricating oil and just a touch of heat, let cool, penetrating oil heat and so forth. After several cycles like that, make sure you have a good fitting spoke wrench and give some gentle tugs, it should break loose. Remember, after repair replace and adjustment, the spoke should be tight enough to have a ring to it when the job is done.
