Selim
we are now testing the engine after overhaul. how many gallons should i use while engine is still in the car (idling) before taking it for a test drive after overhaul? is there a specific number of gallons to be used before moving the car? It is not really a gallons of gas to use when breaking in an a fresh rebuild. What is required upon the first start and run is keeping the RPM up to 2500-3000(RPM) for 15-20 minutes so the camshaft can break in properly. After that it is a matter of driving 500-1000 miles(1600 km) to allow the piston rings to seat in the cylinder bores.
