Trulyvintage
Saturday it rained and rained ..... 😔 About 40 miles from my destination I waited out a day of continuous hard rain and strong winds ..... ⚠️ I had stepped up my delivery schedule to get a special delivery to a family anxiously waiting for their COVID relief. Sunday morning the rain stopped long enough for me to unload on a side street a few miles from where the boys would start school today. I videod the arrival of the family. The excited boys yelled and jumped for joy at the sight of the 1986 VW Westfalia Camper Van that was now theirs 😊 They had camped in a rented Westfalia for a family vacation and that is all they could talk about with their parents - how much they wanted one. Their parents found one in Placitas, New Mexico. Larry Schramm
We understand. We love ours which we have had for more than 35 years. My wife and I are getting ready to do the Rt 66 trip when this covid crap is over with. We have no plans to sell it. #2 daughter and her husband already have already claimed first dibs on it when we move to the afterlife.
Trulyvintage
Chris - the Seller - was reluctant to see it go. His best friend passed away last year. They used to travel the country on Harley Davidson motorcycles following baseball game schedules of teams that Chris favored 👍 Chris didn’t feel quite right about continuing that tradition on his own so he sold his Harley and used that money along with the money from the sale of the Westy to buy a vintage Porsche to enjoy. I suggested the drive to Dennis Hopper’s gravesite in Rancos De Taos, New Mexico. it is a beautiful drive in the Spring 😉 Jim Edited January 4, 2021 by Trulyvintage (see edit history)
padgett
Had a 70 Westphalia and toured all over the US from coast to coast and up and down. RVEECO cooler. Is what melted the coil in the AZ desert. Used to joke it would sleep two friendly adults, one not-so-friendly adult, and one midget.
