buick looks fine for 39
Any thoughts on the best lubricant for the felt washer seals in a 6 volt heater motor? Also any suggestions for a substance to clean the windings and commutator. In the good old days I would have used carbon tetrachloride but there might be something better and less toxic. The motor is in great condition just dirty and the felt washers are dry. Thanks

kgreen
The CRC stuff is chlorinated, meaning it is probably not allowed in California and thus an effective cleaner. Any chlorinated VOC really is harmful to your health and should be used in a well ventilated space. The best and most effective carburetor cleaners are also chlorinated hydrocarbons.
