Brooklyn Beer
I have no brake light but have a tail light. What is the proper procedure for testing the switch at the master and at the socket ?

JACK M
One of the wires at the switch should be hot, the other one goes to the light. As Tom says simply jump these, You don't even have to disconnect them. If the brake light comes on then you know that it is the switch. Some times I will jump these to trouble shoot at the lamp without a second person to hold the pedal. Be careful if you do this without the protection of a fuse. With all that said, its probably a bad ground either at the bulb or at the housing somewhere.
