Dan Marx
I need your assistance with the identifying of the following delco remy coil: Delco Remy 1836538, this is marked on the box. There are no markings embossed on the coil. I believe this is an original equipment, keyed coil. This one has 2 terminals on the top with a 3 screw base that fits just above the space where the ignition switch fits. ThanksDan
Guest
I have a huge delco book. This part coil traces to a Delco Coil number 526S.It traces to 1934 or earlier, but I would need to look through all models as there is no backwards traceability in the book. Hope this gets you closer.Good LuckGreg
ply33
My Plymouth parts book shows that the 526-S coil & switch assembly with the 1836538 coil was used on 1929 Plymouth Model U and 1930 Model 30-U cars. There is a good chance it was used on other cars as well.
