Late 1940's or 1950 s Stainless trim piece NOS in GM package

This looks like a late 1940's or 1950 s Stainless trim piece . This came from a garage that ran from the mid 1930 s thru the early 1960's.

Here's a 53 Olds 88 4-door illustrating where stainless piece "mounts horizontally above the stone guard on the left rear door."  

Also seen is the 53 Olds 4-door stone guard from another post. (possibly opposite side).
