Does anyone have any detailed repair info on a '48-'52 Borg-Warner T96 transmission used in the Jeepsters. a friend has to rebuild his but all of the repair manual are vague. Would like to find a Borg-Warner to Jeep part number interchange too, to help ID parts. Thanks for any help

The T96 was used in the Willys (exc. 4 wh. dr), as you say, either with or w/o OD. The only other automotive use was Stude '47-51? Champion, but with a different case. Other than the case and the MDG, all other parts are the same as Studebaker '46-51? Champion (not auto.).

The National Service Data book has information on this. See p. 2631 in

From MoToR's 1952:

Three is a bit on the OD model too.

Thanks for the info. I have the service manuals like the ones shown but my friend is looking more for an actual Borg-Warner service manual for dealers and shops which might have better exploded drawings and more specs. to check for wear. I don't know if anything like that exists. He is also looking for a B-W interchange to make sure he crosses the Jeep numbers correctly. parts are not an issue as many places carry them.
