Make model or year?

I'm looking to date this picture.  I believe the house was built in 1927.  Any idea about the cars?  Thanks!

The first two cars on the left that you can see their front fenders look '26/'27 era.  The first one might be a Ford.

Could be a 1929 Chevrolet coupe near the center of the photo.

What was the event? The Welcome flag might indicate something that can be looked up in a newspaper.

 

Is it "Welcome Alumni Beat Syracuse"?

I believe it is for a homecoming football game at Penn State.  They played Syracuse on homecoming in 1924, 1926, 1928, 1932, and 1934.  I was trying to exclude some of the years if possible.  If the house was built in 1927, that gets me to '28, '32, and '34.

Are there records of where the parties were held or alumni stayed around each of those events? Maybe only one of them had a party at this place?

 

Or is it that Penn beat Syracuse that year and that only happened on certain years?

The house looks new - no gardens etc.
