ILIKECARS53
Hi All, Needed to do some rewiring on the Buick and need to polarize the generator. I have 2 procedures, one for an internal ground generator and the other for an external ground. What kind was used on a 1942 Buick, can not seem to find that info. Thanks in advance for the help. ILIKECARS53
Sorry for the second message. Forgot the most important part, also rebuilt the generator with new brushes. Thanks again, Jim
Frank DuVal
When you were inside replacing the brushes, one brush was grounded, the other one was connected to the Armature terminal, Which brush was connected to the field lead? The other field lead is connected to the Field terminal. BTW, this question is also know as A circuit or B circuit generator. Typically GM is A circuit, Fords are B circuit, but there are exceptions.
