unimogjohn
Mine just went thud and then nothing. So looks like I need a new one. Anyone have one for sale? Here is a pic.
JFranklin
If you can get it opened carefully you may be able to fix it. I have repaired an old dodge solenoid and there wasn't much inside it.
unimogjohn
I found out that this is called a "Starter Switch". There are a couple of NOS units on Ebay for around $25. I will take off the existing switch and see what it up. It looks like a sliding copper contact contacts with a fixed copper contact allowing the current to flow to the starter from the battery. A very simple switch. I will pull the broken one and see what contact has failed. But I think that I will need a spare at least.

JFranklin
Now you have one still look inside the old one to see what malfunctioned, I'm curious.
