Need help identifying an antique car

I have a photo of an antique car and would like to know what make it is.  There is a badge that is partially covered up by the license plate.  Also, does anyone know what the tank is on the running board and if that would be original to the car?  Thank you.

The tank on the running board is a acetylene tank for the headlights.

The headlights used the gas in the tank instead of electric lights which replaced the Acetylene lights later.

I’m going to take a shot on the make being a Chalmers-Detroit based on the half of emblem showing. Here’s a link to a great reference:

Based on the badge I believe you are correct. The original is a bit clearer and I would say it is a match, including the text around the outside.  Thank you very much!
