storing a 65 cougar

Recommended Posts

i am buying my first car, and i am looking at a 1965 cougar coupe. my only problem is where to store it during the winter. I have no where to store it indoors, and was wondering what the best way to store it under covers, or on blocks.

My suggestion would be to try to rent garage /barn storage space nearby if you are just going to store for the winter. More importantly however you have to figure on where you will work on the vehicle.

I have had bad luck with outside covers. They are not completely waterproof, promote condensation and usually tear in the wind by their first birthday.

There are a number of portable canvas enclosures that have become popular and are reasonable compared to building a structure. You could even use it as a shop. Check in Hemmings Motor News for ads.

Hope this helps.

I guess he may not have a problem storing it - if it does not exist!!! crazy.gifgrin.gif

You are right, Merc Cougars were first produced in '67. My first car (High School) was a '68.

There maybe another make of Cougar that I don't know about.....

Wayal... when I first saw the post I thought the Cougar II showcars ooo.gif Ford built in the early 60s, since I seem to remember hearing they unloaded a bunch of their styling exercises and experimentals recently.

Anyway- honest mistake. I figure our young friend here is between 15 and 17, meaning he wasn't around in 1965. Even his parents may not have been wink.gif
