Mars
30 cf, I think I have a vacuum leak, coming to a stop with clutch in, it idles abit high until I tap the throttle and it kicks down. How to check? Carb gasket? Thanks
hchris
What makes you think its a vacuum leak ? Sounds more like a sticking throttle or linkage if you can tap the pedal and have the revs drop.
Spinneyhill
If it were mine, I would look at the entire accelerator linkage system, including the hand throttle from the steering column. The hand throttle in particularly has two or three joints that are just pins in a hole with no lubrication. The pin wears and the hole wears more. It is easy to imagine it binding somewhere. Also, is the accelerator return spring still fully intact and mounted where it will work?
