cahartley
I'm trying to help a friend find a light, or two. He is in the process of adding a lighting generator to his 18-36 Hart Parr tractor. I owned a 28-50 on which I mounted a bit Bausch and Lomb spot light. It worked real too but that's the only Hart Parr I ever saw with lighting. I sold an 18-36 Hart Parr which had lighting fender brackets......also the only one I ever saw. Anyway the particular style isn't as important as being period but Hart Parr did use KW lights. ANY help will be appreciated.......
alsfarms
What year would be the tractor in question? That would maybe help determine a steel body light, a combination steel and brass or all brass lamps? It would help to have an idea as to the size of lights needed, (fork mount spacing and OD of the door). Nice tractor, wish I had one! Al
cahartley
It's a late 20's model, mine was a 1930 model. The lights in that photo aren't exactly what he needs but something period would be nice. I saw a photo of some more conventional KW lights that resemble those on Model T Fords.
alsfarms
I will look and see what I have that may be suitable for the tractor. Al
cahartley
In chatting with my friend it dawned on my I have never seen a vented, electric, light. I'm thinking those might be gas lights. The only photo/illustration I have available is too lousy to blow up enough to be useful...... ........but I'll keep looking. alsfarms
I agree, I think the lights you are looking for are gas lights. I have a pair of black and brass from a 1913 Ford that may work.
cahartley
Thanks but he needs electric. Unless some KW's turn up, which is unlikely, I recommended he use Model T electrics. They're fairly close and all over da place.......
