Spinneyhill
Andy Bernbaum sells a grommet set C-153 for 1939 to 47 Dodge and Plymouth trucks, 48-53 Dodge trucks, 39-50 Plymouth & Dodge & DeSoto & Chrysler. This is their picture: I am hoping someone has one of these sets.... Can anyone tell me the dimensions of the one circled please? What size firewall hole is it for? How long is the snout? What diameter is the opening in the end of the snout? I have asked them, but they are unwilling to take it out of the package. They told me it is "about 2/3" diameter" but had nothing to measure the slot for the hole so can't tell me the diameter of the hole it is designed for. I am wondering if it might adapt to the 1930 Dodge Brothers Eight. The other five grommets will not.

Guest
Sorry, nothing like that on my '38 firewall. What size firewall hole are you working with and what do you need to put through it? Greg
Spinneyhill
Holes are c. 1/2" diameter and things c. 1/8" diameter come through them. Yesterday I learnt the original grommet looked nothing like that so the question is now moot. Thank you for your reply.
Guest
Could you use something as simple as a spark plug loom grommet?
Spinneyhill
Yes I could. But the original looks more like this. Sorry for the poor cell phone photo. There are very few of these in captivity.
Guest
That looks like a regular type of grommet that has suffered a prolapse. Good Luck Hunting
Spinneyhill
I think I'll be making some. The car had five of them. I am working up a drawing...
