Adam Auditori Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 (edited) These lamps were under the rear seat of a Model G REO that I got from the Warne Trust Auction. What Vehicle do you think they may be from. Cheers Adam Edited November 15, 2017 by Adam Auditori (see edit history)
Mike Mahar Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 Nice find. Any manufacture name or mark on them?
Adam Auditori Posted November 15, 2017 Author Posted November 15, 2017 There is no marks anywhere on the lamps Mike.
Layden B Posted November 15, 2017 Posted November 15, 2017 4 screws/rivets on the front face of the rims and hinge at the top are common features on headlamps of trucks. The steel bodies and socket mounting are late features for gas lamps. Look on late teens and 1920s trucks. Gas lamps were used on many trucks until the mid 1920s when starters and generators along with their electric lighting finally relieved truck drivers of hand cranking the engines equipped with magnetos for ignition. 1
