Kosnmotion
Hey guys, I picked up a 56 Century that has a bashed up gas tank that leaks. Been searching everywhere for a replacement with no avail. I read the someone used a 54 tank from tanksinc but they are all 17 gallons and the 56 had a 19 gallon tank. Will this look funny in the car and or will it work OK. Does anyone have a decent one to sell me? Desperate!
RivNut
Google: CTC Auto Ranch. They're in Texas - lots of old cars they're parting out.
Beemon
You could do what Boeing does and put a sealed expansion bag in the tank, or try to patch the holes yourself with brazing and finesse. The Tanks INC tank will work, but like you said you loose the 2 gallons so you just have to pick your battles.
Bloo
The oldschool approach is to take it to a radiator shop. Yes, I know its almost impossible to find a radiator shop these days. It might be worth checking to see if your area still has one. Beemon's brazing approach works too but you need to fill the tank with something non-flammable (co2 or whatever).
