I just Bought a 1962 Plymouth Valiant and it is missing some Parts in order to shift the car from the buttons in the dash to linkage to and from the carburetor. Can anyone help advise me how and where to find these parts ?

Thank you,

Christopher

The pushbutton shift wasn't electric on those cars. There should be 2 cables. One is for park, operated by a lever. The other one is for the pushbuttons, and selects reverse, neutral, drive. low.

There should be a mechanical linkage, made of rods and bellcranks, going up to the carburetor. This linkage must be present for the transmission to work properly. It tells the transmission how hard and how late to shift. It also provides a kickdown to second gear. The transmission cannot survive long without it.

Best of luck finding your parts, and welcome to the forum! :)
