hwellens
Here is some information from the 38 Dodge shop manual. If you are sure the plugs are not fouling due to oil getting to them, I would make sure the choke is opening all the way when warm and the float is set at the correct level. You can remove the 3 screws on the top on take the cover off and see where the float is sitting. Other than that is get a rebuild kit. 38 Dodge carb.pdf
carbking
(1) Is the fuel you are using fresh (less than 3 months old)? And are you running at an RPM higher than idle? (2) compression test (3) ignition test (4) fuel delivery system pressure test (5) complete ignition system test (6) check choke mechanism on carburetor (7) complete ignition system test, including ground connection from battery (8) carburetor rebuild If you actually get to (8), we will be happy to help with the parts.
