John_S_in_Penna
Dave, have you put an ad in the publication of the Hudson-Essex-Terraplane Club? Those items are quite specialized, and from a car that is little seen, so that the H.E.T. Club seems the most likely place to find those parts. (I hope you reach a '29 Hudson collector here, though.) By the way, beware of con men who love to answer ads for obscure parts. You probably know all about that criminality, but be sure to demand pictures taken on the current newspaper, or have everything sent C. O. D. Accept no excuses and be safe! Congratulations on restoring one of the "less popluar" makes! There are probably 1000 Fords of that year for every Hudson, and you are preserving history. 19tdave
John, thanks for the note and concern. Yes I am a member with the HET club and have posted with them. Yes, I am aware of the scammers out there even within the clubs I belong to. Restoring this car has been a challenge that is for sure. Thank you Dave
John_S_in_Penna
Can any of those parts be fabricated if you borrow good ones for patterns? I don't claim to be an expert on that topic, but I hear that 3D printing and related works make it easier these days.
19tdave
Hi John, yes - these parts can be fabricated and that was my next shot if I can't turn up any of these items. The right rear would be the easier than the front. The front is massive plus it has a well in it. and both have beaded and wire edges. The wire wheel hub caps could be CNC machined but maybe it would be easier just to see if a Franklin or Chrysler hub cap could be modified as they used the same wire wheel in 1929 These parts are around but the owners are passionately attached to them, which I don't blame them. Again Thank you and have a wonderful evening. Dave

roysboystoys
I restored a 29 Hudson sedan in the mid 1970's. wire wheel hubcaps were not available then. I had them made by a friend from aluminum and polished them myself. The right side welled fender is easier to find then the left. If you haven't already , contact Carl Webber in Massachusetts , I think he is still around.Old time HET vender My car had both. If you have a fender , it probably is best to rebuild it, even if you have to use a non-welled fender to start. Great road cars , 70 mph capable , but brakes are limited at that speed. Enjoy your restore.
19tdave
Hi All - yes I am also on the Hudson yahoo group for Hudson's. Thanks - I have been in contact frequently with Carl and he has given me some contacts but not the correct parts available. If I do not locate the correct fender in a few months then I will need to fabricate the right side fenders. My left sides fenders were in good shape however the rights seemed to have been in a demolition derby. Thanks for all the suggestions.
