johnworden1
I'm fairly certain that 4 of these brass spacer/washers were used to bolt the Ex/Intake manifolds to the 37 block. Notice that the interior ID is tapered. Where are they used? Thanks. John
jpage
They go on the exhaust manifold at each end where it bolts to the block. There should be 4 and 4 special nuts that nestle in the tapered part. The nut can be replaced with stainless cap nuts by drilling through the ends of the caps. There should be 4 thick hard washers that clamp the intake to the exhausts manifold too.
johnworden1
Ok thanks. Are 4 self locking nuts used with the 4 thick steel intake washers? If not, where? John
jpage
Nuts should just be regular hex nuts. I put brass nuts on mine with no problem.
johnworden1
AMS has a partial installation kit showing 4 self locking nuts. That's why I ask.
johnworden1
The kit showing 4 self locking nuts below 9 brass nuts.
jpage
I think that those flex-locs are their substitutes for the rounded nuts used with the brass washers as the original nuts are not available ,that I know of. I would just drill out the cap nuts, use the round top nuts not pointed. I think that they are 3/8 nuts an they'll fit just fine. Be careful not to remove the threads.
