lump Posted October 26, 2016 Share Posted October 26, 2016 Yeah, it's an accessory defroster for the windshield. The 4 thin wires inside the rectangular frame are heating coils. These old defrosters are like "winter-fronts" for radiators....a fairly useful accessory for winter driving "back in the day." But not something that anyone would like be expected to install on their antique car today.
