John Loney
After sitting for 30 years, my '39 New Yorker saw daylight for the first time. This car was built in Detroit (as all straight eight '39's were) and was exported to Chrysler of Canada. She's an early build '39, actually built in November of '38. I have obtained this information from the Chrysler historic society. Everything that appears to be missing, I have and I was very surprised to see how solid she is. Frame and floors are great and it's about as complete as you'll find. The car was last licensed in 1961 and my father bought her in '73. She needs some work, but she's all there and very solid ...

Hudsy Wudsy
A '39 New Yorker is a classy car! I'd love to have one, though I'm far too old for this major of a project. It's just my opinion, but I'd hasten to ditch the sealed beams. I wouldn't want any part of this beauty to remind me of a '40 Ford. I'm a little surprised to not see an overdrive, but maybe they weren't seen as needed on eight cylinder cars.
