Barney Eaton
November 2016 Hot Rod Magazine a reader ask about adding a supercharger to his 3800 Monte Carlo (page 132) The response gives some good insite into putting a stock supercharger from a 3800 on a non-supercharged 3800. This would make a good reference technical response and it would be nice if Ronnie could add it to his page....don't know it that takes permission from HR, Maybe it could be linked if the magazine becomes available online in a couple of months. It is only 2 pages
2seater
Good information for anyone with a Series II swap. It isn't that complex on the Series I or pre-Series I from '88-'90, but much of the advice is still valid. The full engine swap is more straightforward but there are still a host of peripheral items that need to be changed/modified plus the ECM modification. ChrisWhewell
Still, the 4T60 trans is the weak link. I wonder whether a 4T80 transmission from a 2002 ElDorado might be a viable insertion - the 2002 ElDorado was an E-platform car. Here's one article http://www.3800pro.com/forum/fwd-transaxle-components/37817-3800-swap-4t65-4t80-pt1.html Also, this article gives a little history about our transmissions http://www.angelfire.com/ca2/34Performance/dohc.html I have a nice 3.4L DOHC motor here, just alter the cam timing and its basically a 275HP motor. I wish I had time to play with this stuff more
