TallJohn Posted August 10, 2016 Share Posted August 10, 2016 Okay so I have re-installed my dash after figuring out all of the electrical issues. So I connect the speedo cable and the odometer cable , ( 10" piece) to the back of the dash. However, I cannot see anything to connect that piece to. The dash has been out for a couple of years, so now I'm wondering if there was ever a cable to connect to when I bought it. I know I didn't carpet over anything. So I guess my question is should the odometer cable be running next to the speedo cable through the firewall? Just scratching my head over where the heck is the cable. Riviera63 Posted August 10, 2016 Share Posted August 10, 2016 Is this the cable you are talking about? If it is, that is the reset cable for the trip odometer. The metal knob end goes through a hole in the bottom edge of the dash below the steering column. The metal knob should have a rubber cap that makes resetting much easier.
