Guest RBClarke
I am doing an historical research project and I would very much like to know the year/make/model of this car if possible. The photo was taken about 1914 in the San Francisco Bay Area. My first thought was a 1912 Packard Model 30 but I don't think that's right. Any help I can get will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Guest RBClarke
Thank you for your suggestions, but I couldn't quite match them to the photo. Then I got lucky and came across this photo and ad. I think the car is a 1911 Bergdoll Model 30 Touring Car, which came in a 4-door version. Some of the identifying features (I apologize if I use the wrong terminology--I'm new at this): Overall body shape Hood shape Front seat position and shape 10 spoke front and and 12 spoke rear wheels Side gaslight type and position Taillight (hard to see in the photo I posted, but more visible in the original) Steering wheel position and height Rear fender Front fender, especially the compound curve at the base Door shape and style Double folding windshield with the same support rod end Toolbox size, position and hasps Rear leaf spring ends Would anyone be so kind as to confirm or disagree? Again, thank you for your help, RBC (I gotta get me one of these.)
Ric Dean
RBClarke You've done good, to help compare I put photos and ad on the same angle pixel & size. Ric
