Guest desotocustom48
I have a 48desoto custom that I bough. Previous owner stripped all wiring out. Have put in a new 12 volt harness. I need help wiring the transmission to the box on inner fender and the wiring off carb. Any pics or diagrams is appreciated. Thanks Brian.
61polara
Search other posts on here and you will find that the transmission will not work correctly with 12 volts. You need to go back to 6 volts. Hope your new harness is heavy enough gauge for 6 volts.
Guest desotocustom48
It was ran on 12 volt before I got it with a resistor cutting power to the box down to 6 volts
wldavis
Here is one from a 1948 Chrysler. Does this help any ?
c49er
Hope that $$$$$ rare starter lasts with 12 volts.
Guest Bob Call
Probably no problem with the 12V switch, because, the prior owner that made the switch was in all likelyhood a better automotive and electrical engineer than all those people on the payroll at Chrysler Corporation.
