Daves1940Buick56S
Sorry if this is a bit of a dumb question, but in the 3 years I have had my car I haven't had to remove any of the chromed beauty rings on the wheels. I am looking at getting new tires in a few months and am assuming I should remove them so the tire monkeys don't ding them up. They seem pretty flimsy to me. What is the best procedure to remove - carefully pry up a bit at a time? Replacement as well - carefully tap in with a rubber mallet? Or are there other tricks? FLYER15015
Hi Dave, For removal I use one of my wife's heavy plastic spatula handles, that I ground down to a chisel edge. Kind of like a home made plastic trim removal tool. For installing, I only use the palm of my hand. They just wedge in with little barbs around the edge. 39BuickEight
I just use a big flat screwdriver with a rag wrapped around the end of it. Just pry a little and work your way around. Do a little bit at a time and just don't try too much at once.
