kreed
The electric trunk release for my '73 Riviéra does not work. I cannot find anything in the owners manual , chassis service manual or in the Riview ( suspect I am not looking in the right place since I am sure others have questioned this) . Would appreciate any direction on where to start to trouble shoot short of fuse which is OK. Thanks for any advice . Seafoam65
To troubleshoot this you need to use a test light or a volt meter to determine if you aregetting twelve volts to the trunk release solenoid on the latch when the trunk release button is pushed. If you are, the trunk release solenoid is bad. If not, pull out the trunk release button and check for power going to it, and power leaving it when the button is pushed. If you have power in andout of the push button, you have a break in the wire that runs under the carpet. If you have power in but not out, the button switch is bad. Ifyou have no power to the button, most likely the fuse is blownthat feeds it.
