Guest
Can anyone ID the car in this picture? It is a family photo and we are trying to date the photo. Any idea or guess or any "Its not" would help. The address below should be a hot link.
Thanks,
Bill
<http://members.cruzio.com/~laumar/RLJrEueline.html>

ply33
This is going to be more of a "its not" post.
The steel artillery wheels would place it mid to late thirties. The front "suicide" doors rules out GM, Ford and Chrysler products that I know of from the mid to late thirties.
The very rounded window openings and fairly stylized door handles ought to help identify the car.
Sorry, but that is all the better I can do.
Here is the picture for those who don't want to follow the links.

[This message has been edited by TodFitch (edited 04-03-2000).]
Guest
My Guess-
1936/37 Hudson Terraplane
ronbarn
Hudson and Terraplane went to front hinges on the front doors in 1937. Not much to see here but I'd say 1936 Hudson, Terraplane, or even possibly 1935 Oldsmobile (Olds switched handles in '36).
Rick Hoover
A few of us looked at this during lunch and that's what most of us agreed with also.
Well, everyone but me. I thought it was something else. I waited til they went home then posted this.
Rick
Guest
I think 36 Terraplane is correct. The car is not Hudson as the windows are too short and the smaller Hudson ended in 35. The roof line is not right for 37, so 36 it probably is.By posing beside the car it must have been a new one and there was pride in new ownership. The cloths and hair style also looks right for 36. This was a fast car!!!!
