Guest jonlberg109
I need help identifying this old frame. It has been in a barn in Castalia, OH for quite sometime, and I have no background info on it. It's in pretty good shape. Wood spoked wheels. I could not find any identifying numbers, admittedly I didn't look under the frame...
wayne sheldon
It appears to be about 1925 to 1929. Four-wheel mechanical brakes (I can't tell for certain)? Four lug clamps per wheel? What size are the wheels and tires? That could help a lot. So would the wheel base if you have an opportunity to measure it.If you can identify it, it could have some value to someone restoring a similar car. Probably not a lot of dollar value, but real value is not dollars.Good luck!Drive carefully, and enjoy, W2
Guest 914Driver
The chains from the frame to the rear axle, think that's stock? They would keep the frame from leaning too far in one direction?
Guest 914Driver
Jonlberg, I'm thinking about building a Speedster, so if you have a chance to purchase this frame, let me know.Dan
Guest jonlberg109
I am going back out today... I'll measure the wheelbase and tires. I am open to offers. It is mine to sell.We are trying to restore the barn and every little bit helps. It is currently blocked in, and will be a small project to get out.We have this old thing to move it with.... 28 Chrysler
I don't think the chains are stock . Many hay wagons were loaded unevenly. What type of brakes ?Could be a Whippet frame ?
Greg H.
Looks to be a 27 Whippet frame. Appears to have some modifications. Check to see if there is a serial number tag on the right rear frame member (just above the rear spring shackle). Greg
