Healeybob
I have a 63 401 nailhead. Anybody have a good line on where to get some good spark plug wires. Also what spark plugs does it take and cap and rotor etc are needed? Thanks
Jim Cannon
I recommend AC Delco C349 Distributor Cap and AC Delco C435 Distributor Rotor. There are vendors on Amazon that carry them. For plugs, AC Delco R43S are pretty readily available. They are cooler than stock plugs (44S). If you find the 43 plugs foul, go up to a hotter R45S. Or look around for some of the original 44S plugs. I find them at swap meets. For wires, “Universal fit” wire sets can be cut to the following lengths:#1 (bent end at plug) and #2: 32 inches#3, #4, #5: 25.5 in.#6, #7, #8: 22.5 in.(Source: 1963 Buick Master Chassis Parts book) To look stock, get black wires with black boots. RivNut
Has anyone found a wire with the boot that replicates the originals? It was a flanged boot that filled the entire hole the spark plug sets in.I have a couple of old ones from one of last years parts cars but they're dried out and I only have two or three of them.
