FYI.

Tried to reserve room at host hotel, all rooms that were blocked off for us are taken, but back-up hotel across the street still has rooms McKenna at the Oxford hotel was very helpful and informative sounds like great alternative hotel includes what sounded like a better hotel breakfast than most and a evening snack sounds like it could be a supper.

I did notice that the alternate Hotel sounded like a better deal for those two reasons. Was thinking of changing my reservation.

If anyone want to change from the host hotel, let me know as it is much easier for the wife if we are in the host hotel. I have put off making reservations knowing that they are often fill the host hotel.

I just booked a room at the Oxford Suites, Jantzen Beach, which is indeed across the street from the host hotel, the Red Lion. It's a bargain at $109 per night and, for another $25 for the week, they'll even let my dog stay with me. Mind you, an extra human costs just $12 a night but they don't usually shed as much.
