beerczar1976
Okay guys, what are these parts, and where do they go? I've got a '50 Special Deluxe Tourback Sedan. Do they belong to my car? There are 7 parts total. 3 are paired up in the following images. The last is a moulding of some kind but has screw or rivet holes in the backside of it. Nearly all other window chrome I have has almost tracks that different types of clips slide into. This moulding piece does not match any of the other pieces I have. I believe it to be a rear window reveal or belt moulding of some kind...perhaps for a different year/model?I did see that the parts shown in the first 3 images do have part#s stamped in them: 4586323 and 4586324.Any ideas? This could be fun.

beerczar1976
Matt, Thanks for the help. I'm down to some of my final re-assembly. As I've mentioned in some prior posts, I think some of the parts that I got from the prior owner may go to different vehicles. Some I actually returned, radio, reflectors that just looked like they were from the 60s thru 80s, etc. I think the parts, as shown in 0710-0712, unless identified here may be going back at some point too. I had some other very long piece (not in the above pics.) that looked like window trim but appeared to be high gloss black painted aluminum with a plastic filler piece on the length of its back side. For some reason, I think I remember the guy saying he was rebuilding a Grand National as well. Judging by color/style/design of the materials, they could very well be his. Still unsure of the chrome moulding piece in pics. 0713-0715.
49_buick_super
0710 - 0712: headliner retainers?0713 - 0715: seat trim and retainers? (looks like stainless, not chrome)Dan
beerczar1976
I believe my headliners are held in by the metal plates with the grip teeth on the edges. As for the 0713-0715 being seat trim...Good possibility, I'll have to check the parts manuals.
beerczar1976
Dan, it would appear that you're correct on the seat trim. Just had a chance to pull the Body Parts Book. I think I've got either the left or right Moulding, Front Seat. Part# 4572557 (right side) or 4576142 (left side). I thought the seats looked a little "unfinished". Should be a blast to try to now track down the other one. D'oh!! Only saving grace is that, if indeed this is the part I've got, they were also used on all '50-'53 Super and Roadmaster as well. Only the Special Deluxe models featured this trim. Standard Specials did not.
pirate
704, 705, 706 holds the kick panel in place at the door post location. Also the fabric trim that circles the door is squeezed into it
