Guest dwhiteside64
Hi,Does anyone know if there is a lens that covers the lamp mounted in the trunk lid? Somehow it looks like one should be there, but I have never seen an example. If there is, can someone post a pic of what it looks like?

Desmc14
Thanks... I've been wondering for years about that... just looks like one should be on there.
RivNut
Make sure the light is installed correctly. A mercury type switch is connected in line. When closed, the lamp should go off; if it doesn't, you'll run your battery down.Ed
Guest dwhiteside64
Good idea. Iwill check it today. If I open the trunk and the bulb is initially cool to the touch, I'llknow I'm ok.
RivNut
The bracket/fixture screws to a brace on the lid. If you can see the bulb when the fixture is screwed to the brace, you'll be in good shape. I think the lamp goes out quite a bit before the lid is completely closed. You can probably see it go out if you look for it.Ed
Guest dwhiteside64
Hi Ed, Yes that's exactly what happens. Both switch and lamp are AOK
