MarkV
Well I received a new trunk light from Jim Finn (Thank you for the great parts!) anyway, I plugged it in and it does not want to go off when I close the trunk lid! No matter what I do it just will not go off. Is there a contact point (similar to doors) which could go bad?
Guest Mc_Reatta
Sounds like you either received the wrong light assy or a defective one. An 80s light assy has a built in tilt switch in the base that turns on the bulb when the lid is raised to a certain point. In a 90s the switch moved to the latch and is not part of the light assy. The light turns on when lid is unlatched and switch is activated like a door jamb switch. Either way, you need to get another 80s style light assy. Jim
I took that light off a '90 Reatta trunk lid, boxed it up and sent it to Wes no charge. ( I told everyone I sell my parts cheap. Wes emailed me about the problem and will send him another.
MarkV
@ Jim- Thank you! I also installed the light switch and it did not fix my problem with the dash lights, could it be the photo sensor? Yes, Jim is very very very fair on his prices and he is a great guy to deal with! Highly recommended!
Guest Mc_Reatta
Use the built in diagnostics to troubleshoot your dash lights. Here's how:Instrument Panel Lights - Troubleshooting - Reatta Owners Journal
