cool57
My 63 came from the factory without AC. I am guessing it is a pretty big job retrofitting factory air, parts sourcing alone would be onerous. My heater works fine. So....has anyone installed a "hang-on" AC unit? TexRiv_63
The biggest problem is where do you hang it due to the console design. Installing Vintage Air behind the dash would work better, I did that on my 63 years ago. Do a forum search and you will find a number of threads and photos. The biggest issue in a non- factory air car would be locating the outlets, you could add them under the dash or retrofit factory air outlets to your dash. cool57
I was thinking a Mark II under dash unit. Looks like it will fit under passenger side.
RivNut
Find the links for the Vintage Air installation that Don mentions in post #2. A unit hanging under the dash will severly hamper the passenger's leg room. The Vintage Air, or Old Air Products or Classic Air units, are really worth looking at. The only reason I could see for hanging something under the glove box would be if someone gave it to you and you can get it installed for a six-pack of beer.Ed
